Iceland’s super-film of 2015, Rams, has been nominated in no fewer than thirteen categories for the upcoming EDDA annual film and TV awards.

At an event in central Reykjavik’s Bíó Paradís cinema venue today, Rams – directed by Grímur Hákonarson – was announced as a contender in categories as varied as Best Leading Actor, Best Script and Best Special Effects.

Hot on the heels of Rams are two other award-winning Icelandic films from last year: Fúsi (twelve nominations) and Sparrows (ten nominations).

The Icelandic Film & TV Academy will now make their deliberation and final decisions ahead of the 2016 EDDA Award ceremony, to be held in Reykjavik’s Hilton Nordica on Sunday 28 February.
