See the legendary Apparat Organ Quartet tonight at a free concert

Kex Hostel are doing a pre-Sónar warm-up tonight featuring the legendary Apparat Organ Quartet.  The band was originally conceived by Golden Globe winner Jóhann Jóhannson as a collaborative project for a concert series by Kitchen Motors, a record label and art collective.

The band is now comprised of Arnar Geir Ómarsson, Hörður Bragason, Sighvatur Ómar Kristinsson and Úlfur Eldjárn who are working on a new LP.

Apparat's sound is inspired by Kraftwerk-like electronics and they have described their music as "rock and roll with keyboards." The band rarely performs so this concert, which is free of charge, is a quite a must.

Supporting Apparat tonight are newcomers asdfhg, a lo-fi electronic duet comprised which recently won the prestigious Kraumur award.

The concert starts at 9 pm and guests are advised to arrive early to ensure themselves seats. If you have Sónar tickets, you can catch Apparat Organ Quartet on Friday night in Harpa Concert Hall.

On Thursday and Friday, Kex Hostel will keep up the Sónar Reykjavik atmosphere by offering live DJ's from 6 pm onwards.
