Heartstone is the winner of Iceland's Edda prize

Film Heartstone (Hjartasteinn) directed by Guðmundur Arnar Guðmundsson was the overall winner at the Edda 2017 awards last night.  The awards were presented at a formal ceremony at the Reykjavik Hilton Nordica and televised live on Rúv.

Heartstone received nine Edda awards and was nominated for sixteen. It received awards for best picture,  Best cinematography, best editing, best set and costume design, best director and best script. Blær Hinriksson received the award for best actor and Nína Dögg Filippusdóttir for best actress in a supporting role.

Næstflestar Eddur hlaut kvikmyndin Eiðurinn í leikstjórn Baltasars Kormáks. Hún hlaut alls sex verðlaun, en hafði verið tilnefnd til þrettán. Hún var verðlaunuð fyrir brellur, gervi, hljóð og tónlist auk þess sem Hera Hilmarsdóttir og Gísli Örn Garðarsson voru verðlaunuð fyrir leik sinn, hún í aðalhlutverki og hann í aukahlutverki.

The runner up was film Eiðurinn or The Oath directed by Baltasar Kormákur. Hera Hilmarsdóttir received best actress award an Gísli Örn Garðarsson best supporting actor.
