Reykjavík Festival starts next weekend in Disney Hall and throughout down town Los Angeles. Acclaimed artists such as Víkingur Heiðar, Sigur Rós, Múm, dj flugvél og geimskip and more will perform at the festival, all from different genres of music.
Reykjavík Festival starts next weekend in Disney Hall in Los Angeles. A varied group of Icelandic musicians will perform, all acclaimed in their own fields.
Sigur Rós, Schola Cantorum, Daníel Bjarnason, Víkingur Heiðar Ólafsson, Ólöf Arnalds, Múm, Skúli Sverrisson, dj. flugvél og geimskip are all performing, along with artists connected to the label Bedroom Community.
The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association hosts the festival. The festival’s origin is a collaboration between the Philharmonic and Icelandic composer Daníel Bjarnason. The aim is to show the collaboration evident in the Icelandic music scene, across different fields in music, according to RÚV [link in Icelandic].
