WOW air takes delivery of brand-new ‘family’ jets

Icelandic low-cost WOW air is currently taking delivery of two shiny new Airbuses straight off the production line in France. Like the rest of the airline’s fleet, they are being given family-related registration numbers.
Last week saw the arrival of TF-GMA – i.e. Grandma – a brand-new Airbus A321. It will be joined by a second, TF-GPA – Grandpa, in the coming weeks.

The other aircraft in the airline’s Airbus A320/21 fleet are TF-MOM, TF-DAD, TF-SIS, TF-BRO, TF-SON and TF-KID, carrying on the family-theme.
The first of WOW air’s new Airbus A330 aircraft has been named TF-GAY, in a nod towards the airline’s commitment to support LGBT rights.
