“A man came here wielding an axe and threatened staff. We were all able to get out while he was behind the counter. Then he walked out,” says Magnús Sigurðsson, apothecary at Ápótek Garðabæjar which is located in the greater Reykjavik area.

He says that all staff were in shock as the man had been in a very agitated state when he entered the premises. "He screamed at people and threatened them, with the axe in his hand."

The man fled the premises but police managed to trail his car and stop him. Fortunately no one was injured.
