Icelandair began a new route between Keflavik International Airport in Iceland and Belfast, North Ireland yesterday. The new Belfast route is operated by Air Iceland Connect on its 72 seat Bombardier Q400 aircraft in a code sharing partnership with Icelandair.

The aim is not only to open Iceland as a destination from Belfast. The flight will easily connect flights to Icelandair’s destinations in USA and Canada, according to a press release from Icelandair.

This will be a year-round service that will operate up to three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.
