"I feel that's been ruled out," said Ragnar Jónsson, member of the investigation team at the Reykjavik Metropolitan police asked at court today whether Nikolaj Wilhelm Herluf Olsen could have been a perpetrator in the case of Birna Brjánsdóttir's murder.

Yesterday, both Thomasar Møller Olsen and his defendant, Páll Rúnar M.Kristjánsson seemed to be implying that the guilty party was not Thomas, but Nikolaj.

Kristjánsson pointed out that no blood had been found on the steering wheel, the gear stick or the inside of the driver's door but instead, on the right side of the dashboard, closer to the passenger seat. He asked whether the blood could have been an imprint of the murderer's hands. "That's unlikely," replied Jónsson who said that the blood on the dashboard had not been from a handprint but was rather a streak which implies that someone had wiped the blood off with a cloth.
