News outlet Quartz News have made a report on the dangers posed to the Icelandic language in a digital age. The report features numerous interviews with Icelanders and academics. 

"As our lives move further and further online, more dangers of extinction are created for numerous languages, including Icelandic," states the report. 

Amongst the people interviewed is language professor Jóhannes B.Sigtryggsson at the Árni Magnússon institute who explains how Icelanders invent new words for new technology to help to protect the language.
