A road trip along Ring Road One in Iceland is rated sixth on the list of the World’s Best Once-in-a-Lifetime Journeys, compiled by Canadian travel service Flight Network in cooperation with more than 500 other parties.

A team of specialists on international travel was asked to assist in the making of the list, according to Flight Network’s website. Among them were travel journalists, agencies, bloggers, and editors.

First on the list is an expedition to Antarctica, but in sixth place is Iceland’s Ring Road.

“The 1,332 km road will take you through the mountains, the glaciers, the fjords, and along incredible coastlines,” the report states and continues, “A road trip around this intriguing country will awaken a sense of awe and vibrant spirit of adventure in every traveler.”

Second on the list is a cruise to the Galapagos Islands, third is travel along the Trans-Siberian Railway, followed by a trek to Machu Picchu in Peru and driving the Pacific Coast Highway in the US.
