Mbl.is now operates three webcams that offer a continuous livestream of the Fagradalsfjall eruption. One of the webcams is located in Nátthagi valley, the second one is on top of the hill that used to be the most popular observation point, but is now enclosed by lava, and the third one offers a view of Meradalir valleys. Wildfires rage at the edge of the lava flow in Nátthagi valley, Southwest Iceland, mbl.is reports. Smoke from the fire blocks the view of the lava stream that comes cascading down the slope into the valley. See the livestream below.

There has been a haze over the capital area this morning, which likely stems from the eruption site, according to Salóme Jórunn Bergþórsdóttir, natural hazards specialist at the Icelandic Met Office.

Volcanic gas pollution has not exceeded health protection limits anywhere, though. Salóme expects the haze to diminish once it starts raining later today, and to disappear when the wind direction changes.
