Stefánsson to return to Iceland within next few days
Sindri Þor Stefánsson was arrested in Amsterdam yesterday.
Escaped prisoner Sindri Þór Stefánsson suspected of masterminding the Bitcoin Heist in Iceland will be returning to Iceland in the next few days confirms his lawyer Þorgils Þorgilsson.
The extradition process from the Netherlands, where he was arrested yesterday, to Iceland will take a week at the most, he beleives.
Þorgilsson spoke to Stefánsson shortly following his Amsterdam arrest. He doesn't know whether Stefánsson gave himself up to police or whether he was arrested in the street. He doesn't know whether the Instagram photo with the hashtag #teamsindri taken in Amsterdam gave him up or not.
