Today, the Day of the Icelandic Sheepdog will be celebrated from 2pm to 4 pm at Árbær Open Air Museum in Reykjavík. This is an excellent opportunity for dog lovers to learn about the Icelandic Sheepdog.

Several dogs will be at the museum today, accompanied by their owners. Questions about the dogs will gladly be answered. A news release from the museum describes the dogs as friendly and calm. Guests are welcome to pet them, once they have asked the owners for permission to do so.

A short documentary on the Icelandic Sheepdog, its history and role, will be shown in one of the houses on the museum grounds. Admission is free for children, the elderly and for people with disabilities. A café, located on the premises, serves light refreshments.

Árbær Open Air Museum is part of Reykjavík City Museum. It is located at Kistuhylur 4.
