Hvalfjarðargöng tunnel closed due to accident
Hvalfjarðargöng tunnel is closed due to a road accident in which people were injured. Two cars were involved in the crash.
According to police, two ambulances, from Reykjavik and Akranes were dispatched as well as a fire engine as oil leaked from the wreckage.
The Suðurlandsvegur road is closed through Hellisheiði, Sandskeið and Þrengsli due to strong winds and bad visibility.
An area of low depression is hitting West Iceland today causing bad weather, snow and icemelt.
