Having lost Friday night’s game against France, the world champions, at Laugardalsvöllur arena 0:1, the Icelandic men’s national soccer team now faces Andorra tonight at 6:45 at the same venue.

The games are qualifying matches for the UEFA EURO 2020, to take place in several European countries. Friday night, Olivier Giroud scored the game’s only goal, from a penalty, during the 66th minute.

The loss against France follows Iceland’s loss against Albania in September and leaves the Icelandic team no room for error, Morgunblaðið reports. Iceland’s chances of qualifying for the EURO 2020 are bleak, unless the team wins its three remaining qualifying games: against Andorra tonight, and those against Turkey and Moldova in November, and unless France beats Turkey in their match tonight.

Right now, France and Turkey are at the top of Group H with 18 points, while Iceland ranks third with 12 points.

Andorra ranks well below Iceland on the FIFA list – 139th as opposed to Iceland’s 41st place – but the Andorran team members are, however, known as “specialists in annoying the opponent.”

Iceland has faced Andorra six times before, with every game ending in victory for Iceland.
