Play flying to Schiphol this summer

The airline Play has started selling tickets for regular flights to Schiphol Airport this summer. Play's first flight to Amsterdam will be on June 5th, with flights up to five times a week through October. Play's regular services will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays. This is revealed in the company announcement.
It has always been a priority for the airline to obtain a landing permit at Schiphol Airport, which has been tightly regulated for the past few years, making it difficult to get.
Schiphol Airport is one of the main transport hubs in Europe, so it will be really important for the connecting route network between Europe and the United States. This is not just a matter of getting passengers between the two continents, but Schiphol is a vital airport for all freight traffic. Play has made a strong effort to increase its freight traffic business and regular services to Amsterdam will have a very positive impact on that development.

Cancel its flights to Aarhus
Since Play was offered a landing permit at Schiphol Airport this summer, the company will at the same time cancel its schedule to Aarhus, Denmark. This is unfortunate as the sale of tickets to Aarhus have been a success, but due to the importance of Schiphol airport to the Play schedule system, this decision was made. Passengers who had booked flights with Play to and from Aarhus will, of course, be fully refunded.
All destinations are now on sale by the summer, with upwards of forty destinations on Play's network this year.
Play previously held scheduled flights to Schiphol Airport for four months from December of 2021 to March of 2022.
“Schiphol airport is the third largest airport in Europe, making it an extremely important addition to the Play’s network. Getting a landing permit at the airport today is no easy task. That’s why we jumped in when we were offered a landing permit there this summer. We hope, of course, to offer regular services to Amsterdam throughout the year, and this decision is part of putting us in that position. Our goal this year is to significantly increase the share of gate revenue in our business and by taking the direction to Amsterdam we are putting ourselves in a great position to do so with freight transport,” stated Birgir Jónsson, the director of Play, in a press release.
