Mari Järsk, Andri Guðmundsson, and Elísa Kristinsdóttir broke the Icelandic record in the Iceland Backyard Ultra in Öskjuhlíð today when they finished 51 laps. They have been running since nine o’clock on Saturday morning.

Each of them has therefore run 341.7 kilometers.

Þorleifur Þorleifsson had the record that the three of them broke and it was set in Germany last year when he ran 50 laps.

The frontrunners were not going to let 51 laps be the end of the run and Kristinsdóttir, Järsk and Guðmundsson all went on to their 52nd round.

Each lap is 6.7 kilometers long.
