Midwives' strike in the cards next Wednesday
Midwives, who have been fighting to increase their wages for two years now will be going on a strike of all their extra working hours next Wednesday. .Negotiations between the midwives' association an the state negotiator once again failed on Wednesday. Midwives are asking for a wage increase of 17-18 percent but the state has still not reached an offer of twelve percent.
Chairman of the midwives' association's negotiation committee, Katrín Sif Sigurgeirsdóttir confirmed to mbl.is that the state's offer had still not amounted to 12 percent.
