500 new apartments for young people in Reykjavik

Mayor Dagur B.Eggertsson says that almost 500 apartments built especially for young people and first time buyers will be completed over the next few years in seven different locations in Reykjavik. 

Rental prices for these apartments will not be allowed to go up except with special permission from the City of Reykjavik. 

The City of Reykjavik advertised for bids for ideas to develop certain alottments in the city and now the winning ideas are being presented. 

The apartments will be built in Úlfársdalur, Kjalarnes, Gufunes, Bryggjuhverfið, by Sjómannaskólinn, Veðurstofan and in Skerjafjörður. 

People aged 18- 40 will be prioritized as buyers for these apartments.
